As they say, it all starts with that one idea that doesn’t let you sleep.
Exactly what happened with Raj, back in 2011. He became obsessed with the idea of bringing innovation to traditional Marketing. It costed him not only his sleep but his job too.
In 2011, Pragmatic learning (we still retain that company name) kicked off with an objective of training marketers who would make a difference. It’s here that the concept of Inbound marketing flowered, with businesses showing an inclination to adopt it as a service, beyond training.
Those were early days. The idea of inbound marketing was still a concept. But, we were determined.
In 2012, we got our first set of clients, rebranded as Inbound Mantra to reflect our fledgling inbound marketing nature.
There was excitement, but not enough.
We explored a partnership with HubSpot, but could not follow through.
Winter stuck in 2013. Demand was stagnant, in line with the overall lull in the economy. Survival seemed impossible. Raj swears of thinking of shutting up thrice every day.
We pulled through, in stops and starts.
In 2014, with the new Government in place, demand picked up. Businesses seemed excited to invest. And invest into new ways of marketing and sales, since “usual business” wasn’t delivering the goods.
We recapitalised and pulled up our socks.
Business started picking up. We needed muscles and more legs.
We went back to HubSpot, invested into the partnership (with all the meagre resources we had) and became their first tiered partner in India.
Inbound Mantra did not look back since.
Business is not just growing, it is also now predictable. We know exactly how many leads we would get on a daily basis and how much business we would generate, over a period of time.
Inbound Mantra’s inbound marketing machine is on. And why not, we eat our own dog food, day in and day out?
The last year was truly a breakout – growth, new team members, new clients, new office, new experiences and new problems. In just a year, the world around Inbound Mantra hasn’t altered as much as we have.
We’re elated, emotional, ecstatic and excited as we turn fourrr today.
And today is just a reminder of this bittersweet symphony that this journey’s been. And the reason for our ‘spontaneous overflow of powerful emotions’.
